Woman Stabbed To Death During Celebration in Violent Fight

As thousands of Ibaguereños and tourists prepared to revel in the joyous atmosphere of the Great National and International Folklore Parade, a family in the Dos commune found themselves mourning the loss of a loved one who fell victim to a tragic act of violence.

On Sunday morning, a violent altercation erupted in the Alaska neighborhood involving two women. Both individuals were subsequently taken to medical facilities, but one succumbed to her injuries inflicted by the other woman.

At approximately 9:30 in the morning, the Ibagué Metropolitan Police quadrant received reports of a fight between several individuals, with Lizeth Rogelia Carranza Castro and Ana Graciela Segura Gutiérrez being the individuals directly affected.

Carranza Castro was swiftly transported to the emergency department of San Francisco Hospital. However, upon her arrival, healthcare professionals tragically declared that she had no signs of life.

The victim’s life was cut short due to the severity of her injuries, inflicted by a metal sheet. Among the injuries was a deep wound to the left side of her neck, resulting in profuse bleeding. It was also reported that she sustained another facial injury.
