In a tragic incident that unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, a 26-year-old man was fatally shot following a brawl at a bar in Itatiaia, a town located in the southern region of Rio de Janeiro. The crime took place on Avenida Simão da Cunha Gago, within the Campo Alegre neighborhood.
The entire incident was captured on security cameras, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation. According to the Civil Police, the victim was allegedly involved in a fight between the shooter and another individual inside the bar. Police reports indicate that after the altercation, the assailant briefly walked towards his car before returning to the middle of the street. It was at this point that he fired a fatal shot at the victim. Subsequently, the shooter swiftly fled the scene in his vehicle.
Emergency medical services were promptly summoned, and the injured individual was transported to the hospital by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). Tragically, despite the medical intervention, the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
