Benn & Jerry’s Looking For a New Chief Marketing Officer One Day After Controversial Tweet!

Ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s used the Independence Day holiday to chastise the whole country via tweet: “This 4th of July, it’s high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it

Ben & Jerryâs has called on the US to return âstolen Indigenous landâ in a bold Fourth of July message. Taking to social media, the ice cream company divided fans over its Independence Day post, tweeting, âThe United States was founded on stolen indigenous land. This Fourth of July, letâs commit to returning it.â In a similar message on its website, the company argued that July 4 festivities and celebrations can âdistract from an essential truth about this nationâs birth.â Ben & Jerryâs proposed to âstart with Mount Rushmore,â writing, âWhat is the meaning of Independence Day for those whose land this country stole, those who were murdered and forced with brutal violence onto reservations, those who were pushed from their holy places and denied their freedom.â

One day later they are searching for a new Chief Marketing Officer online. See the image below.
