1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured in Taiwan After a Crane Collapses

An industrial safety accident was reported at a construction site on Yongai Street, Renwu District, Kaohsiung City. The Kaohsiung Labor Bureau intervened in the investigation and confirmed that it was a man-made accident.

At a construction site on Yong’ai Street, Renwu District, Kaohsiung City, at 12:00 noon today, a crane tipped and overturned an industrial safety accident, causing 2 workers to be crushed. Among them, the 44-year-old Jin was driving the OHCA crane, and the other A 34-year-old worker surnamed Chen who assisted in unloading suffered head trauma.

The Gaoshi Labor Bureau received a report and went to investigate. It was found that the mobile crane on the pallet truck was not extended to the maximum limit, causing the pallet truck to topple, and the scaffold on the truck fell and injured two people. The workplace has been ordered to suspend work , and a fine of NT$30,000 to NT$300,000 will be imposed according to law.
